The Wim Hof Method is about reconnecting us - to ourselves, to others and to nature. It's a powerful team-building experience and equips individuals with the tools to feel happier, healthier and stronger - both inside and outside of the workplace.

A Wim Hof Method Fundamentals workshop is four-hours long and no previous breath work or cold exposure experience is necessary! Just an open-mind and willingness to learn.

Some people attend a Wim Hof Method workshop to find for new ways to push through perceived physical or psychological limits. Some use it as an inward journey to process hardship or trauma. Others still are just always searching for the next novel experience to enrich their lives.

All participants will be asked to sign a health declaration prior to the workshop. You will need a basic level of fitness to participate and be in good health. Due to your safety being our number one priority, some of the activities in this workshop may not be suitable for you if you:

  • Are pregnant
  • Have serious cardiovascular conditions (including previous heart attacks)
  • Are epileptic 

Previous cold exposure / breath work experience is not required for participation in this workshop, just come as you are with no expectations and let the magic happen!

I want to welcome you to my Scottish Winter Retreat in December 2023!

Hidden away on the beautiful island of Skye in the Inner Hebridies, Scotland lies the Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse. Nestled into a quiet corner of this wild island, the breathtaking scenery including rugged mountains, sandy beaches, refreshing streams and deep waterfalls. Enjoy wonderful views of the sunset over the bay and, for a lucky few, views of the Northern Lights. The perfect getaway from your busy lifestyle!

Three hours from the nearest airport (don't worry, airport transfers are included if you need them!), you're totally away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. There are stunning views of Skye and the sea through the large picture windows that surround the main living and dining space. During our time together, we'll be doing daily breath work sessions, diving deep on mindset and performance psychology and getting plenty of cold exposure in nature. 

Take time to reset, re-connect with yourself, nourish your body with hearty food and drinks,  and leave feeling like you can conquer the world! Recharged and reconnected to your mindset, your body, and your energy,

We'll be staying in the super cosy Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse on the North-west coast of Skye. Accessible by car via the Skye Road Bridge or you can book a flight into Inverness and we'll pick you up in a minibus from there.

The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse was created with a sharp eye for design and comfort. There are stunning views of the Skye and the sea through the large picture windows that surround the main living and dining space. We'll enjoy the excellent location, fantastic facilities, wonderful views of the sunset over the bay and, for a lucky few, views of the Northern Lights. 

You can book one of the cosy bunk beds in a single-sex shared dorm, with excellent shared bathroom facilities. Or if you'd like more privacy, there are a small number of luxury pods available to book for the week - equipped with a double-bed, underfloor heating and en-suite shower rooms. 

As part of the retreat we will be blessed with our very own in house cook! They will take full control of the kitchen so you won't need to prepare, wash, wipe or clean for the whole week.

I'm a (Performance Psychologist (BSc (Hons), MSc, MBPsS.),  Certified Wim Hof Method® Instructor and Outdoor Guide from Brighton, UK.

Now we've got the official bit out of the way, aside from my qualifications, you'll find me on the open road in my campervan, hiking-up or skiing-down a mountain or swimming in the sea – the colder the better! I have a four-year old cocker spaniel called Teddy and love rock climbing, sea swimming, running and horse-riding. 

For the past 10 years, I've been working as a performance psychologist, with elite athletes to improve their mental game as well as mentoring ambitious entrepreneurs to create six-figure enterprises. I qualified as a Wim Hof Method instructor in early 2022 and have been running Wim Hof Method workshops in Sussex and Kent, hosting wilderness retreats and delivering powerful performance psychology programmes for dynamic and innovative corporate groups.​

After reaching burn-out myself, I know how it feels first-hand to feel out-of-balance, stressed and overwhelmed. Back in 2018, I was running three different businesses, and I let societal norms dictate my definition of success - then, success to me was about how busy I was and how much money I made. It meant I worked seven days a week and constantly felt tired. It wasn’t healthy and didn’t feel good.

I decided there must be a better way. After being introduced to the Wim Hof Method back in 2019 and noticing the huge benefits the Method gave me personally, I took the opportunity to train as a Wim Hof Method Instructor. In February 2022, I travelled to Poland to train with ‘The Iceman’ himself - Wim Hof. After a life-changing week in sub-zero temperatures, doing cold immersion next to frozen waterfalls and hiking in the snow, I qualified as a Wim Hof Method Instructor.

For me, a blend of the Wim Hof Method breath work and cold exposure helps me feel calm, confident and in control. Combined with performance and wellbeing psychology techniques and strategies, it's a potent mix to live a life full of purpose, passion and adventure! 

I am beyond excited (ask anyone who knows me!) to be hosting this retreat! It is imperative to me to design a retreat I would also want to go to. Running my own business does mean I find it hard to also find balance, switch off and be in the moment. Therefore, I know this is needed by so many other people, and sharing a space where we can reconnect, recharge and reset is so important to me.

So much hard work has gone into planning this retreat, and I can't wait to be at The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse on Skye in December, and I'd love for you to join me!

You can book a bunk in one of the cosy and spacious single-sex bunk rooms in the main bunkhouse. The beds are cosy and private, with curtains across each bed. There are plenty of modern, shared bathrooms and large, open-plan communal living areas with stunning views across the bay.

Join me for an adventure and wellbeing retreat on the shores of the stunning Coniston Water, Lake District.

Hidden away on the shores of Lake Coniston in the central Lake District lies our base for this retreat. It’s elevated position provides sensational views of the lake and high fells beyond with the village of Coniston within walking distance. The perfect getaway from your busy lifestyle!

During our time together, we'll be hiking the fells around Coniston, diving deep on mindset and performance psychology and getting plenty of cold exposure wild swimming in the waterfalls, rivers and lakes that surround us. Lanehead is a historic period property located on the Eastern shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District. The venue’s elevated position provides sensational views of the lake and high fells beyond with the village of Coniston within walking distance. Our accommodation is easily accessible by car with plenty of parking on-site. 

We have double, twin, triple and quadruple rooms available to book. Either come with your partner, friends or if you're travelling solo, we’ll match you with other like-minded guests. If you’d like more privacy, we have a very limited number of single-occupancy rooms available to book - equipped with a double-bed and en-suite bathroom.

Hi, I’m Sarah. I am a (Performance Psychologist (BSc (Hons), MSc, MBPsS.) and Certified Wim Hof Method® Instructor from Brighton on the sunny south coast of England. 

I’ve designed this retreat because I’m hugely passionate about the role nature can play in our wellbeing. I notice I thrive in natural environments myself - be it hiking, camping, climbing or wild swimming. The combination of participating in a physical challenge with being immersed in nature, as well as being hugely rewarding, also helps me to manage stress, anxiety and overwhelm. 

Having experienced burnout first-hand, since then, over nearly five years, I’ve developed a comprehensive toolkit of techniques and strategies I now use to manage my mental health.

For me, getting outside in nature is one of those key tools. I always feel better when I’m on an adventure! Whether it’s hiking in hills of the UK, camping high in the French Alps or swimming in the sea. Alongside powerful psychology techniques, getting out into the wilderness has become a big part of my life - so much so I am currently training to be a Mountain Leader. 

I’ve designed this adventure wellbeing retreat to get you fully immersed into the wilds of the Lake District. This change of environment will provide you with a refreshing break from the familiar and sometimes stressful surroundings of daily life.

Along with hikes on the fells surrounding our accommodation, and wild swims in rivers, waterfalls and tarns, you’ll also have the opportunity to attend powerful breath work and mindset sessions to give you space and time to think about your life and help you gain more control over your thoughts and emotions.
